Chattisgarh Judicial Services Overview
The Chattisgarh Judicial Services conducts an annual examination to select candidates.
Pay Scale: Rs 27,700-770-33,090-920-40,450-1080-44,770.
Name of exam: Chattisgarh Judicial Services Exam
Candidates applying for the exam should be citizens of India.
Candidate should be practicing as advocates in India or should be qualified to be admitted as an advocate under the Advocates Act 1961.
Candidate should not be more than 32 years.
The Examination shall be conducted in three stages, namely,
(i) Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
(ii) Main Examination (Written Type)
(iii) Viva voce (Interview)
(a) Preliminary Examination (100 Marks)
The preliminary examination shall be of the duration of two hours consisting of objective-type questions from the following :
- Indian Penal Code
- Code of Civil Procedure
- Code of Criminal Procedure
- Indian Evidence Act
- Constitution of India
- Transfer of Property Act
- Contract Act
- Limitation Act
- Accommodation Control Act
- Court Fees Act
- Specific Reliefs Act
- Registration Act
- CG Land Revenue Code.
(b) Main Examination (Written) ( Marks 100)
For main Examination, the relatively more meritorious candidates from among those who appeared in the preliminary examination in the ratio of 1:10 have regard to the number of vacancies, shall be called for final examination to be conducted which shall consist of :
- Framing of Issues and writing of Judgment in Civil Cases. (Max. Marks 40)
- Framing of Charges and writing of Judgment in Criminal Cases. (Max. Marks 40)
- Translation :
- English to Hindi – Maximum 10 marks.
- Hindi to English – Maximum 10 marks.
(c) Viva-voce (Interview) 15 Marks
Relatively more meritorious candidates from among those who appeared in the Main Examination in the ratio of [1:10] having regard to the number of vacancies, shall be called for final examination to be conducted.
